Abstract
This thesis presents the case of Zoltán, a weak student in the primary school class that I observed last year. I decided to write about him after I discovered that his knowledge and abilities in English were weaker than those of his classmates. In Chapter One I present the case of Zoltán and provide information about his problem. In Chapter Two I describe my tools of research and in Chapter Three I show the results of my research. In Chapter Four I describe Zoltán's behaviour in the English classroom. In Chapter Five I provide alternatives of solution for the teacher how he/she could help the student. I came to the conclusion that first of all his parents should be made aware of their son's problem and then, with willingness from their side, help can be given. The data I have collected reinforced my view that weak students should not be neglected, but rather, special care and attention should be provided for them.
