The SZTE Repository of Theses contains BA and MA degree theses accepted by the University of Szeged and its predecessors. This archive is part of the Contenta repositories, operated by the Klebelsberg Library.
According to the Academic and Examination Regulations of the University of Szeged „The faculties determine the thesis and diploma-work topics, its content requirements, the general points of evaluation, and the submission deadline and release them in an announcement”. This also means that the collected and processed documents are considerably heterogeneous in all aspects (naming, character, physical appearance or handling). Our repository project implements a method that is suitable for digitizing both past and present theses of the University.
The Repository has two levels, it contains metadata (author, title, year, faculty and department etc.) necessary for identifying the document and the full-text version of the thesis in some electronic file format (usually in PDF). While the metadata is completely public, the full-text files are restricted, available only through designated computers in the University and the Klebelsberg Library.
The authors, after identity confirmation, can access their own works and can also approve of the full-text access to a third person. These regulations are established by the Klebelsberg Library, in accordance with the appropriate authorities of the University and with Resolution NAIH-1033-2/2012/V of the Data Protection Supervisor.
The files in the repository on the one hand come from the retrospective processing of older documents, while on the other hand the uploading of current theses is continuous, in cooperation with some faculties and the administrative platform of the University (Modulo).
The following faculties are actively involved in expanding the repository by handing over current defended theses:
