Abstract
In this work I am going to examine two states of the U.S.A. My assumption is that these two states are different in their economic growth and their chances for the future are more or less determined by their geographical features. After presenting them and the historical development how these states became a part of the U.S. and I intend to examine their present situation on the basis of population, minorities, employment, income and living facts. Finally I want to investigate the reasons for the differences, the possible future and the influence of the geographical conditions.
