Abstract
This thesis examines the features of role-play activities in the process of communicative language teaching. I will prove that language teachers have a lot of opportunities to develop young learners' interaction skills and to prepare them for communication in the target language in real-life situations. Using the role-play activities in a course book written for ten-year-olds and the extra activities created by myself I will demonstrate that the young learners use role-play activities with pleasure and success.
