Abstract
This thesis examines the differences between errors and mistakes from three different points of view. The first is the scientific one, the second is how various language-teaching methods see them, and the third is the point of view of the average Hungarian English teacher. A research conducted among teachers of English serves as the basis of this thesis. I will prove that there are differences between theory and practice concerning errors and mistakes and their correction.
