Abstract

This thesis examines the effects Alfred Hitchcock’s works have on today’s American movie art. I will prove that most ofthe English director’s methods are still in use and have an influence on motion pictures from various genres. Through analysing a few movies of the past years and searching for similarities between them and those productions directed by Hitchcock, I will demonstrate that the English moviemaker’s works still serve as an example to be followed in the American film production.
