Abstract
The ancestor of this thesis is a scientific study on formative assessment. That was also made by me in the fall of 2006, and received a 2 nd price in the College's competition at the section of pedagogy. This thesis it's the English translation. The work investigates the advances and possibilities of the formative assessment, also deals with the child centred education and the importance of motivation, gives a historical background of the development of them in Hungary and Denmark. Furthermore the imaginary model of an ideal school, where the child is put in the focus, is detailed in the work. I provide examples from Danish schools to validate the different statements and elements of the five-stage model, and to show examples how it works in real life. A comparative research is also included, where I analyse the results of question sheets, filled by Hungarian and Danish students, about their feelings towards school and studying, and try to identify real reasons and solutions.
