Abstract

This thesis examines the decline of Poe's mind I will prove that his life circumstances led to his mental breakdown. I will demonstrate my view by explaining Freud's Theory of Psychoanalysis through one of Poe's work "The Fall of the House of Usher". I will also use segments from his life to prove that his decline was caused by tragical events which eventually led to his unhappy and short life.
