Abstract
With my diploma work I intend to show how a narrative can be analysed from the perspective of human relationships. I am going to deal with D.H. Lawrence: "The Rainbow" as this book is a perfect example of how people try to express themselves through their relationships. I will go into the meaning of relationships and while I will analyse them I will express the hidden meaning behind the human self. I would like to focus on relationships because with these examples from the book I would be able to look at my own relationships from a different point of view. As I will highlight the topic of marriage I thought I could get at how we can use the novel in teaching. By the end of my diploma work I will reach the point where I can tell that reading „The Rainbow" helps us through our struggleings of love relationships.
