Abstract

My thesis basically focuses on the problem of assessing writing for young learners of English as a foreign language. I put assessment of students' written English in the centre of my work because I found it important, contrary to new language teaching methods, which do not stress the importance of writing. The task of the thesis is to show how theoretical aspects influence test writing for young beginners of English language learning and to adapts theory in practice. I made the application of theory of test writing in practice, so I have constructed a set of tests for young learners of English language. I have written my thesis on the basis of my own daily work because as an English language teacher I faced with difficulties about writing and assessing students' written work. A lot of methodology books deal with assessment and testing. However, they do not particularly focus on testing young beginners' knowledge, especially in writing. In my thesis I would like to put emphasis on this part of language teaching.
