Abstract
In this thesis I intend to examine the role andposition of working-class women focusing on the values andmorality of the contemporary society. The Victorianagewitnessed constant and rapid change in economic circumstance, social custom and urbanization intellectual atmosphere primarily caused and industrialization. This paper analyses by the above mentioned changes by investigating the lives of the families, especially the ones of working-class women: their exploitation, their poverty, that hopeless situation they lived in instead of the fact that this era is alsocalled the AGE OF PROSPERITY.
