Abstract

In my thesis I intend to analyse the different types of marriages which can be seen in the novel of Jane Austen entitled Pride and Prejudice. With the help of this work, I would like to show the differences between these marriages. First of all I would like to show the historical background of marriage. In the second part, I intend to show parallel characteristic features of Mr. and Mrs. Bennet's marriage and their daughter's, Lydia Bennet marriage to George Wickham. In the third part, I intend to analyse the relationship and marriage of Jane Bennet and Charles Bingley. I also would like to analyse the marriage of Charlotte Lucas and William Collins. Finally, I would like to examine the marriage of Elizabeth Bennet and Fitzwilliam Darcy.
