Abstract
The fight for freedom characterised John Fitzgerald Kennedy's political career from the beginning to the end. During the years of his presidency he spoke with the voice of youth but always emphasised traditional American values such as freedom and liberty. In this thesis, I will examine how President Kennedy concentrated all his energy on the pursuit of freedom. I will demonstrate that his decisions in domestic politics as well as in foreign affairs reinforce his commitment to liberty. Using different analyses of Kennedy's presidency written mainly in the 1980s and the 1990s, and a collection of his public speeches and messages, I will prove that he set a high value on promoting the cause of freedom in the United States and throughout the world.
