Abstract
The development of American music in the 20th century, namely how and why American music could conquer the world. Ragtime, jazz, musical swept trough the world. They were and they are still famous and we have to search for the reasons of their popularity. These styles were new on the basis of traditions and they could change the world. Everybody moved with the pulsation of music and they loved it very much. The fact is thought that now in the 21st century these styles still live proves that it is worth trying to examine them. In this thesis attempts will be made to follow their history and their popularity.
