Abstract

This thesis shows the importance of integrating culture of the target language into the language lessons. This study examines the knowledge of pupils at two different ages and levels of proficiency in the field of British Christmas and the children's feelings and attitudes towards a foreign culture. I will also write about the efficiency of using motivating visual aids, various exercises and activities which concentrate on the dissimilarities and common features of British and Hungarian styles of celebrating Christmas. By analysing the findings I will prove the higher level of familiarity of older pupils in this topic.
