Abstract

My thesis is about United Kingdom's role in the birth of European Community and its integration. I would like to prove that the transition of United Kingdom from imperial power to becoming a partner in the European Community proved to be slow and painful. My objective is introducing the reader into pillars of European Union, especially into formulation of it through a mirror of United Kingdom. It is proved that the way in which United Kingdom, in the long run, succeeded to enter European Community was lingering and aching and it was preceded by great amount of negotiations and agreements.
