Abstract
The present trend in second language teaching puts great emphasis on the improvement of pupils' speaking skills. One crucial point of this is to learn how to produce the sounds of the language. As language teachers use only one or two methods for teaching pronunciation, I decided to experiment with techniques suggested by teacher trainers in order to make pupils aware of the phoneme differences between their mother tongue and the acquired language. With the results achieved, I will demonstrate that there is a whole range of activities with which teaching pronunciation can be not only effective, but also enjoyable at the lower primary level.
