Abstract

In my thesis, the importance, the purpose, and the expected results of integrating other subjects into language teaching are under discussion. The factors of age, level, and motivation are also taken into consideration. The following subject areas are dealt with: Hungarian Grammar, Literature, Art, Mathematics in connection with Music and Language, History, Geography, Biology and Environmental Issues, Science and Computers, and Culture. I am aiming to find the way to use students' already existing knowledge of the above subjects and how to benefit from it in second language learning. An array of ideas on how to fit in these to other well-known methods and teaching techniques will be given. On the other hand, I will claim that these subject areas provide good materials for education in general. Finally, by analysing the answers of the questions from teachers of English involved, their opinion and ideas on the theme will be enclosed.
