Abstract

I have chosen two vampire stories for my thesis. One of them is The Fragment of a Novel written by George Noel Gordon Lord Byron, the other is The Vampyre written by John Polidori. The purpose of my thesis is to verify that Polidori's work is an expanded version of Byron's short story. This will be certified through a comparative analysis. As a support of the thesis statement I demonstrate the different popular beliefs about vampires and their origins in different cultures. I have the intention of giving a picture of the vampire legends and their appearance in literature.
