Abstract

My thesis deals with environmental problems - eminently air pollution - caused by human activity during the last centuries in our ecosystem and the efforts máde by individuals, -"örgitiiisifförifand gbvét<níaiif in' the U.S.A. to stop destruction of the environment. Till now, ' pollution of the environment was a concomitant of economic development which has been i being examined and evaluated by experts, then propositions were put forward for improvement in the present situation. The approach of the U.S.A. to the issue will be always determinative for the whole world as its size, economy and population are not negligible on a world scale. The hypothesis of the thesis is that unfortunately, in spite of the fact that several initiatives are taken, the available evidences of the disastrous effects of human economic activities are notsufficientforreal comprehensive actions in all the crucial fields in the U.S.A. More enthusiastic initiatives are needed and more international contracts must take place in a short time to ensure that next generations get a planehhát they can live on in good health and in adequate environmental conditions.
