    Abstract

This thesis examines John Grisham's novel entitled The Client. I will prove that The Client is a modern allegory. In order to prove my statement, I am going to use the novel itself, literary criticism and books on psychology. I will demonstrate that the author creates the psychological development of the protagonist in a way that enables the allegorical feature of the story to prevail. Mark, the hero, is the embodiment of goodness. His growing up is accelerated while opposing the evil, in order to make him able to overcome in this allegorical fight.
