Abstract

The purpose of my thesis is to prove that after World War IIEurope's recovery would have been much slower without the humanitarian help of the UnitesStates of America. Moreover, without an American presence in Europe Communist threat would have endangered the Continent -both economically and politically. So, thanks to the Marshall Plan, along with a dynamic development of the industry and agriculture,it was possible to contain thespreading of the then appealing ideology ofCommunism inseveral Western-European countries.
