Abstract

In this thesis I discuss the question of how the British Pub has become what it is today: a place of recreation and relaxation in a traditional atmosphere. To examine my target issue I involve the historical and the sociological background of the process. Since I am writing this essay from a Central European - Hungarian - point of view, besides demonstrating the development of the British pub, I will uncover all of its particular characteristics and its culture.
