Abstract

In my thesis I will examine the secret of the mystical and transcendental question of creation with the help of Frankenstein by Mary Shelley. After the investigation of Mary Shelley's personal background I want to show the main influences on the author and her novel. The next step in my work is the introduction of the birth of the story. I will concentrate on the problematical question of the creation. My analisys will show that the young scientist is responsible from every aspect and his tragedy is inescapable. After this I will examine other persons' responsibility in Victor's life. The last step will be the examination of the monster's responsibility. At the end of my thesis I will point at the responsibility of the human being in the creation of the monster. My goal is to show that the acting man's responsibility is to create things with the help of reason and not only passion.
