Abstract

D. H. Lawrence's poem, "Love on the Farm" and his novel, Lady Chatterley's Lover have a very similar message: the priority of instincts. Both texts deal with the significance of eroticism, which is related to the meaning of rebirth. The poem backs up the priority of bodily love, such as physical contacts concerning relationships, while the novel sets up an inner struggle of the main characters with regards to the precedence of mind or body. The lyrical elements of the poet writer can be revealed in both texts. Thus, in our thesis we are trying to compare the poem and the novel regarding their common features mentioned above.
