Abstract

In this thesis I will examine the role of the teacher-student relationship in the teachinglearning process of upper primary school students. Using psychological facts concerning their physical changes, mental stage of development and cognitive abilities, I will demonstrate that teachers building a harmonic relationship with students of this age group can be more effective as far as students' overall performance is concerned. Besides, I will prove that expectations of students towards the school and teachers necessitate a reconsideration of our view about the teacher-student relationship. This proves to be inevitable to be able to build a harmonic and effective relationship between teachers and students.
