Abstract
This thesis examines Britain's role before the Second World War. Studying this period of British and European history, I decided to compare the adjudications I have read. For this examination I chose three authors: W. N. Medlicott, A. J. P. Taylor and a Hungarian historian, H. Haraszti Éva. In the thesis I am going to prove that the Second World War could have been avoided if the world powers particularly Britain, had been able to identify that the peace treaty of Versailles was too strict, and Germany was trying to break out of this situation.
