Abstract

This thesis examines the possible connections between the New Deal and the European Recovery Program (ERP). The two economic plans cannot be examined as a whole in such a short essay as the thesis is. Thus I chosed only a few important parts of them: industrial recovery and public works in the United States and in Italy. I will prove that there are important similarities between the New Deal and the ERP and despite the significant differences between the historical background and the economic state of the two countries the ERP could not have been so successful and well — organized without the New Deal. I will use documents (speeches, statistics, records), Internet articles and monographs to support my theory.
