Abstract

This thesis examines the Gothic features in Emily Brontes Wuthering Heights. The focus of the thesis is how the Gothic elements help to express the feelings of characters and they contribute to the special atmosphere of the novel. A closer look is taken at settings, characters and supernatural elements. It is also examined why Emily Bront chose the Gothic as a genre in spite of the fact that this style was not the norm in the Victorian Age.
