Abstract

This thesis examines the characteristics of young learners, furthermore the nexus between games, motivation and studying a foreign language at a young age. I will prove that games and motivation have a vital role in teaching EFL to young learners, and better results can be achieved if we use them as often as possible. Teachers who are aware of the importance of having fun and motivating students will experience the positive consequences. My final aim is to prove that children have a better vocabulary if motivated and taught in a playful way, in a word "playing" English results in having a better vocabulary.
