Abstract

In my essay I am going to round the topic `foreign language learning in the primary classes'. What is the optimal age of starting to learn a foreign language? I have been teaching languages for thirteen years and I have got a lot of experience with young learners as well. In my opinion it is a really interesting and useful topic for teachers and for parents as well. I think my students like learning English and they enjoy the lessons but I hope that the questionnaires will help me to make the best decision about the children's education. At first I am going to write about the importance of learning a foreign language then about the stages of children's mother tongue and second language acquisition. In the second part of my essay I am going to evaluate my questionnaires I have done in primary schools.
