Abstract

The main topic of my thesis is about the Scots' national identity, how the questions of independence and gaining independence changed during the history. Furthermore, I deal with the origin of the Scottish, and with their contact with the English. I would also love to elaborate on how the Scots relate to a possible independent Scotland, and whether they would like to become an independent country at all. I will also detail the general influences of globalization on the national states. I will also outline the possible reasons for the situation in Great Britain and draw up possible solutions to the problem.
