Abstract
As the title of my thesis has already denoted it, I wrote about the thirteen years of Franklin Delano Roosevelt's presidency in the second and third chapter. The first chapter was written on the antecedents of his presidency which can be placed in the 1920s. During the 1920s, the most important events were the governorship of Franklin D. Roosevelt, the Alcohol Prohibition, the Economic boom and the Great Depression. Then came the first term of Roosevelt with the New Deal, helping out the Americans from economic and mental distress. The second term was overshadowed by the alarming international situation and the threat of war. While he was the President of the U. S. for an unprecedented third time, America stepped into the World War II., joining the Allies. During his fourth term, Roosevelt passed away leaving behind a mourning nation.
