Abstract
Hungarian primary school children aged between twelve and fourteen have a slight communication block, when they have to take part in communicative activities in the English lessons. In this thesis I will examine the Communicative Approach and its origin. In addition to this, I will write about the various forms and techniques of motivating teenagers. Moreover, I will examine the physical background of this problem by focusing on the typical characteristic features of this certain age group. Furthermore, I will demonstrate oral communicative activities, which were designed by me and were used in order to encourage children to participate in games that main goal is to make them communicate and use the English language naturally. Through real classroom activities I will prove that teachers who make the effort to create communicative activities appropriate for their classes can reverse the children's lack of communication.
