Abstract

European white settlers at the end of the 15th century were introduced not only to the continent of America but also to the Native Americans. From that time on Native Americans were attacked and mistreated by settlers and colonists. Their land was occupied and they were forced to move westward. The social landscape of North America presented a vastly different face at the end of the 19th century than in the 1500's or even in 1600's. American policies were created to discriminate them. Finally the idea of creating reservations came into being. Amerindians were driven into reservations. In my thesis I will examine the way in which Native Indians were forced from their original homes into the reservation areas.
