Abstract
The barbarian Celtic tribes of the 5th century had been converted by Roman Catholic priests. The implantation of the new religion succeeded without difficulties preserving some of the Celtic pagan elements. I am focusing on the comparison of the annual Celtic and Christian rituals. I will be discussing the significance of these religious festivals examining the symbolical content of each and searching for similarities. Using historical, symbolical, descriptive, religious and cultural materials, I will prove that both pagan and Christian celebrations had equal importance and influence on one another.
