Abstract
Moral or immoral? This is the question that is often asked when Christians discuss the effects of the most celebrated children's books of today. This thesis investigates which kind of arguments emerge from Christian circles in connection with the Harry Potter phenomenon. I will examine both the positive and negative opinions. I will illuminate the motivations behind the cultural and religious debates. I will expound how these debates cast light upon the progressiveness of Christianity today.
