Abstract
This thesis examines how effectively games can be used in teaching grammar. After the integration of several sources and techniques, which are mainly based on communicative activities, the teaching of grammar gained a new insight. In order to make a grammar lesson effective, beneficial and interesting teachers should use some well-developed and fascinating techniques in the classroom. In the present thesis, the examples of such integrated technique - the use of games will be presented and some examples will be provided. Using information and data from teachers of different primary and secondary schools, I will demonstrate to what extent practicing teachers use grammar games in their English lessons. According to the results, games promise a profitable way for English teachers to practice grammar in a joyful way.
