Abstract

This thesis examines the different roles of songs in teaching English as a foreign language. I will show how a song can be used in the lesson, what kind of skills can be developed through songs and music. I will give a classification of songs which are used for teaching. In the last chapter I would like to give ideas for teaching grammar with the help of songs in the 7 thclass using the Hotline coursebook.
