Abstract

This thesis examines the period before the National Prohibition in the United States Of America. I will prove that in almost every field of American life, the differnces were so huge that a big change had to occure. Using history books, magazin articles and other sources I will focus on presenting the numerous causes of Prohibition and the fact that although it was introduced in order to reduce immorality and suffering caused a lot of almost irreversible destruction to the whole nation.
