Abstract

This thesis examines the development of English for Specific Purposes with particular focus on the development of English for Science and Technology. I will show that English for Science and Technology differs from general English. Using data collected at the Puskás Tivadar Secondary School (Szombathely) I set out the opinions of some classes on studying English for Science and Technology. I also include a practical example of the teaching in English of how to use an engraving machine.
