Abstract
Learning a second language and getting the best grades in English lessons does not always mean successful! communicative skills or self-confidence once abroad. This is sometimes due to lack of cultural backgroung information about the target language. To draw attention to better intercultural communication and to involve more intercultural approaches to teaching I make my case with a special emphasise on Silicon Valley. I will show the flourishig and colourful essence of Silicon Valley as well as giving examples of other tehnopolises. With a questionnaire survey, my thesis will demonstrate the lack of relationship between our students and the developing 21st century, we live in. By some useful techniques and strategies for rebirthing and consolidating knowledge about cultural features of target second language, I would like to encourage my teacher colleagues to be interested in highligh culture.
