Abstract
This thesis is an attempt to prove that cooperative language learning is more effective than traditional learning strategies. A general description of possible classroom situations will be followed by a detailed description of cooperative language learning, its advantages and its problems. Besides describing the research, comparing traditional and cooperative approaches to language learning, I will also analyse its results based on students questionnaires and test papers and complete it with some critical remarks. As a conclusion I will support the theoritical statement with figures and confirm the benefits of cooperative language learning.
