Abstract
In this thesis I will examine why Elisabeth I proved to be the most ideal successor of Henry VIII in the mirror of history. Being able to demonstrate this statement, I compare Elisabeth with her half-brother, Edward VI and half-sister, Mary I on several respects like background, coronation, religion, internal affairs and foreign policy. For this investigation I depended on historical writings, biographies and, also, original texts, such as letters and speeches.
