Abstract

In my thesis I would like to light the connection between the development of the colonies and the Civil War. I startmythesis with the description of the first years of American History: how Columbus discovered the continent, why people came here, what they hoped to gain and how, why the first colonies were formed. In the second chapter I detailed the description of colonial life: their connection with Britain, how they diverged from each other, the position of slaves in colonial society. In the third chapter I wrote about the most important historical events of America: the Battle of Independence, how the New Nation was born. In the fourth chapter I arrived in time to the Civil War; I mentioned the territorial expansion of the U.S., the situation of slaves and finally the history of the Civil War.
