Abstract

I am writing my thesis with the aim to present the way in which Oceania and the totalitarian states are similar. The first chapter will describe the political view of ORWELL, and circumstances that had an effect on him. The main characteristics of totalitarianism will also be shown. The second chapter will show the similarities between Oceania and the devices used to reach this aim. The aim is to keep the power, and one of the devices is annihilation of personality. The third chapter will describe the organisations that help the Party of Oceania and the régimes of totalitarian states.
