Abstract

Grammar is a cruical and relevant part of language learning. That is why children generally do not like learning it. In my thesis I will examine the place and importance of grammar in language teaching. First I would like to give a short overview ofgrammar teaching. Then I would like to prove that grammar cannot only be 'the necessary bad'. It always depends on the teacher's method what the children's attitude to the grammar is like. For the sake ofit, in the following part I would like to demonstrate different types ofexercises which I find suitable for a modem, communicative grammar teaching. At the end of my thesis I will analyse the survey I made in my hometown, Dunaújváros.
