Abstract

Speaking foreign languages has become very important in our modern world. We have to use them in different fields of life. In this thesis I will examine two crucial t aints in language teaching: motivation and speaking. I will prove that different types of motivation play a great role in language teaching. I will also examine problems of speaking activities and factors of a successful oral fluency practice. In the second part of my thesis I will inquire into the Harry Potter phenomenon, its effects and motivating elements for children. I will show that such modern topics bring joy and excitement in the classroom. In the third part of the thesis I will demonstrate my hypothesis through a classroom research based on Harry Potter related exercises.
