Abstract

Expression of Emotion in Jane Austen's Pride and Prejudice Austen adds emotion to her works in a sophisticated and subtle way. The thesis aims to introduce the presence and expression of emotion throughout the novel. It undertakes the introduction of motives, attitudes and restraint of the characters regarding to love and other emotions and supports them with numerous examples. Illustrates emotions from different aspects, including semantic structure analyses, usage of linguistic and stylistic categories, narrative and relevant character analysis. Attempts to show and prove Austen's versatile literary talent in the expression of emotion.
