Abstract

The purpose of my thesis is to illuminate the difference between the use of visual aids in `real-life' schools and practicum schools. It will prove that in practicum schools a large variety of visual aids are applied, while in ordinary schools the blackboard appears to be the ultimate visual aid. Using questionnaires filled in by English language teachers and the observation of some of the same teachers' lessons, I will demonstrate that although `real-life' teachers are aware of the application of different visual aids, they seem to use only the blackboard.
